HILARY: I love when we cook at my mom’s house. We are all completely obsessed with the Food Network. We want our mom to have her own cooking show! Right now she’s putting together a cookbook for us.
SUSAN: My girls are so sweet and generous. They come over for dinner every Sunday night and bring their friends. We speak three or four times a day. Even if we’re not in the same country, we’ll text.
HAYLIE: Teaching Mom how to text was a mistake! It’ll be like, “Bananas supermarket movie 8 P.M.” And bananas is spelled B-L-A-N-A-P-S-A-Q. But I understand it, that’s the best part! Growing up, music was a big part of our household, and it still is: My mom has been bugging me to burn all my iTunes for her.
HILARY: This past year we went through a lot. My parents getting divorced was hard. I guess we grouped together. We could always tell each other when we needed each other, no matter what time of day or night.
HAYLIE: Our grandma also passed away recently, and I remember sitting with my mom and sister and thinking, This is my family; this is who’s there for me no matter what, and I am there for them. It was this feeling of solidarity and ultimate companionship and so much love.
